Property Tycoons David and Simon ReubenDavid Reuben and his brother Simon are ranked in the United Kingdom as two of the top ten most wealthy.
Their estimated worth is USD8.5 billion. They are businessmen who came from a poor background and moved to London as teenagers. They built their fortune in metals and trading property. They are also philanthropists and have designated The Reuben Foundation as their charitable giving; they give to healthcare facilities and education.
They had a school built in North London and named it after their mother, Nancy Reuben. A breast cancer unit in the Meir hospital in Israel was opened in 2005 and services both Jewish and Arab patients.
They have opened a cancer clinic in Haifa, Israel. In 2008 they opened the largest cancer clinic for children in the UK. They have also given money to the Royal Parks Fund and the Prince and Princess trust.
Simon Reuben is three years younger than David. Both brothers are very private and Simon has given only one interview in his entire career.
They did offer to give an interview to Fortune magazine but they did not after it was said that they had ties to the Russian mafia. They started in metals and invested in Russia and Kazakhstan.
