With an estimated fortune of $1.62 billion (CAN),  the Lalji family ranks 29th on the Canadian Business Magazine’s Rich 100 List for 2009-2009, making them Canada’s fourth-richest real estate entrepreneurs.

The reclusive Lalji family is headed by brothers Aminmohamend and Mansoor Lalji.  Well known for their reluctance to enter the public spotlight,  the Lalji family immigrated to Canada in the 1970s, after being driven out of Uganda by dictator Idi Amin, along with other Ismaili Muslim families.

Their successes in the past thirty years have firmly established the Lalji family as one of Canada’s foremost real estate billionaire families.

Based in Vancouver, BC, the Larco Group of Companies was started by brothers Aminmohammed, Mansoor, and Shiraz.

Shiraz Lalji has since relocated to London, England, leaving Aminmohammed the head of the company.  Larco specializes in retail properties, hotels, hotel management,  and storage facilities.
